All the information and support you need in one place.

In a fast and constantly changing environment it is important to keep up to date with current facts and advice, and keep mental health and wellbeing at the front of our minds.

COVID-19 Information

Stay informed. The Australian Government Department of Health website has detailed information and is being updated as the situation develops.

Wash your hands frequently and thoroughly, with soap and warm, running water.

Reassure family and friends that, if they are well, they do not need to wear a facemask. Facemasks are generally for people who are sick. There is no reason to wear a facemask for protection against COVID-19 unless you are directly caring for people who are suspected cases.

Call for advice. If you think you might have COVID-19 because of recent travel or contact with a confirmed case, phone the Tasmanian Public Health Hotline 1800 671 738 for advice. If you haven’t travelled or had contact with confirmed case, phone your doctor or healthdirect Australia 1800 022 222. Protect others around you by washing your hands and keeping your distance.

WHAT ARE CITYPROM DOING?

Supporting Members

We will continue to communicate to our members on current updates and what we are doing to assist during this time.

Marketing & Communications

We are currently pushing the Get Vocal, Buy Local campaign and are working to include more media channels in our marketing efforts. We are committed to reminding the local community that businesses are still operating and encouraging customers to support in any way that they can. We will continue to monitor the current situation and be followed by local Government advice on how we can support our business community.

To get involved with the Get Vocal, Buy Local campaign please email what your business is offering, doing differently or in addition to get your products and services to your customers, along with an image to members@cityprom.com.au

Offers will be listed at launcestoncentralcity.com.au/getvocalbuylocal and shared on Facebook via @getvocalbuylocallaunceston.

This is also a timely reminder to update your business listing at launcestoncentralcity.com.au, as the complete city listing will become a key marketing tool for Launceston in the coming months.

Collaborating with other Organisations

Cityprom has been constantly liaising with other local agencies such as City of Launceston, Launceston Chamber of Commerce, Tourism Northern Tasmania and Northern Tasmania Development Corporation on joint initiatives and best use of resources to spread the Buy Local message and support local businesses in every way we can. We will continue to do so. Let us know if you have any questions or ideas.

WHAT CAN BUSINESSES DO?

  • Remind customers that you are still operating, and how you can accommodate their wants and needs. You may also want to put your customers at ease by letting them know what practices you have put in place to help ‘stop the spread’ through good hygiene and social distancing practices.
  • Try doing things a bit differently by offering additional takeaway options, online or phone ordering, delivery and postage services, or offering additional products and services that may provide comfort at this time – just take a look at what some of the businesses in the city have come up with at launcestoncentralcity.com.au/getvocalbuylocal
  • Support each other by sharing posts, offering ideas, purchasing services and goods from each other, referring customers and give those businesses you look up to a great review online.
  • Look after yourselves, your staff, friends, family and fellow business owners and if you or someone you know is struggling please refer to some of the mental health and wellbeing services above.
  • Ensure you on the closed Facebook Cityprom Members page or checking your emails regularly for updates.

We are all in this together, let’s show COVID-19 how resilient Launceston Central City and Tasmania is!
