Hello to all our Launceston businesses,

Cityprom Changes and Special General Meeting

The Cityprom SGM was held last night on the 3rd of May. Thank you to all those members who took time out of their busy schedules to be there and cast your vote. It was much appreciated by the whole Cityprom team and board.

The special resolution was passed, meaning that as of July 1 2022, the name Cityprom and business membership model, will be no longer. The renamed organisation will have a new constitution that has been voted in along with a skills based board who will be the members of the organisation. We will hold the registered legal name ‘Central Launceston Marketing Inc’ and once the final draft of the funding agreement has been passed by council we will be entering a 3 year funding agreement directly with City of Launceston to provide marketing and promotion services for a broader Central Launceston area.

You can find more detail about the changes to Cityprom on our website here

I am working on some ideas to honour the legacy of 30+ years of Cityprom and the city centre, more details to come soon! If you are interested in being part of an evening or project that celebrates the last 3 decades in the city, email me directly on amanda@cityprom.com.au

I know over the years the organisation has meant a lot to many people and we must take some time to celebrate it’s achievements!

Dining Deck Trial

This is a wonderful initiative funded by state government and being rolled out by City of Launceston. We encourage any Cityprom members in hospitality who are interested to fill in an EOI which you can find in the newsletter and we will be circulating the information again next week to remind you all.

Extra outdoor dining areas in the city will create vibrancy, activity and increased capacities all of which makes for an even better city of gastronomy!

Winterlicious 2022

Now in it’s fourth year, Winterlicious is back and we are excited that it includes some new projects and some now well established favourites!

If you would like to be featured in a blog story, have images from your business in a TV ad or be part of our winter marketing content, make sure you submit an EOI through this newsletter. It is free and we would love to have you involved.

We have lost count of how many people have asked us what the food-alicious competition is going to be there year, so drum roll….. We are pleased to announce MUGALICIOUS! Don’t hesitate to register your Expression of Interest as we have a maximum of 15 spots and you don’t want to miss out on this opportunity to gain extra customers, profile and free marketing, throughout the month of July. If you are keen to be involved but would like to brainstorm some ideas with our team, send us an email on members@cityprom.com.au

Watch this space for more information on a Science in the City project we are working on with our friends at QVMAG, and save this date – Friday 5th August 2022 4pm – 11pm in the city. Think outdoors, firepits, food vans, delicious beverages, a stage with bands and cultural entertainment, family friendly leading into an evening of music and dancing! FIRE and FOG is in the planning and it’s going to be a great night!

In other news...

Sorry to see that some businesses are still having to navigate staffing issues due to COVID, we understand it's still a very hard time for businesses and are here to help. If you have had to close your business, alter your opening hours or are re-opening after a period of time, please send us a message or tag us in your social media posts so we can share it through our stories to spread the word.

Please continue to promote the Faces of Launceston – The City exhibition. There are black and white photos on various buildings around town for people to get to know the people in the city. There is an interactive map that can be found here to help you explore and you can share posts on it from our social media. It’s bringing many people to town and attracting favourable comments, so well done to Cityprom’s Madi and Brea for their work with Phil Kuruvita to pull all this together.
